HOW MANY HOURS OF COVERAGE DO YOU NEED ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Consider what parts of your wedding day you want to preserve as memories. If you're like many couples, you'll likely want coverage for the entire day! The average amount is 8-10 hours, which typically includes capturing moments from getting ready to the final send-off. To determine the right amount of coverage, decide how late you want us to stay and count back 8-10 hours from then. For example, if you want us to stay until 10pm, counting back 8 hours would mean we start at 2pm! For 10 hours of coverage, we would start at 12pm and end at 10pm. However, if you're planning an elopement, 2 hours would be sufficient to capture your private ceremony and couple session immediately after!
WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK WITH US?
ASAP! Our calendars tend to fill up quickly, often a year in advance of wedding dates. We understand that selecting a wedding photographer/videographer is a significant decision. As soon as you're certain you want to work with us, reach out. During peak seasons like fall and winter, we may receive multiple inquiries for the same date as your wedding. We wouldn't want you to miss out. However, please note that we can't reserve your date without a retainer fee and a signed contract. Once those are in place, your date is secured with us!

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH OUR COLLECTIONS?
Photography:
Wedding photography led by Jackie or one of her associate photographers, our photography ninja who captures all the moments you didn't even realize were happening.
A minimum of 50 images per hour of coverage booked, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
For an 8 to 10 hour wedding day, expect to receive 400-500+ images in your gallery.
None of the images will be watermarked or contain our logo.
Full printing rights are included, allowing you to print images as you wish from your online gallery.
Videography:
A highlight film that encapsulates the essence of your entire wedding day in a condensed format, perfect for sharing on social media and with friends and family.
Coverage of all key moments.
Delivery of a highlight film, preserving countless details of your wedding day.
DO YOU CHARGE A TRAVEL FEE?
We do not charge any additional travel fees for venues within a 50-mile radius of Martin County, Florida. However, venues or locations beyond this radius are subject to a fee of $0.65 per mile over 50 miles. For locations further than 125 miles or a 2-hour drive from our home, a hotel stay may be necessary. In such cases, we will find an affordable hotel near your venue and include any costs in your invoice. If flights are required, we will handle the arrangements and add the travel costs to your invoice after discussion with you. Rest assured, nothing will be booked without prior discussion!
CAN WE MEET YOU BEFORE BOOKING YOU?
Absolutely! We would love to meet you in person! It's a fantastic opportunity for us to get acquainted, discuss your wedding day vision, and for you to learn more about us and our style. We typically arrange to meet via zoom or facetime. If meeting in person is more your speed, we're also happy to schedule an in-person consultation!
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PLAN?
To secure and reserve your date, we require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer of 30%. The remaining balance is due anytime before or on your wedding day. We understand that everyone's financial situation is different, so we're flexible with payment arrangements. We can work together to determine the best payment plan for you, whether that involves breaking the remaining balance into 1 or 2 payments, or even setting up monthly payments.
IS THE RETAINER FEE REFUNDABLE?
The retainer fee is refundable for the first 30 days, after which it becomes non-refundable. This fee ensures that we reserve your date exclusively for you. Upon signing the contract, we decline any other inquiries for your date. If you need to change your date for any reason, we're happy to apply the retainer fee to the new date, provided it is available.
WHAT MODE OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
All payments can be conveniently made through our official client management software using credit card or bank transfer. Additionally, we accept payments via Zelle and Venmo for your convenience!
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes, we have general liability insurance, as required by most venues. If you require a copy to submit to your venue, please let us know at least 1-2 months in advance, and we'll be sure to provide it promptly.
DO YOU SHOOT ON BACKUP SD CARDS?
Yes! We utilize dual camera slots in our equipment, ensuring that your images are duplicated as they are captured. Jackie operates with two cameras, while Chris brings along 3-5 cameras to every wedding, further enhancing redundancy and ensuring comprehensive coverage of your special day.
HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP OUR DIGITALS ON FILE?
We keep your digital wedding photos on file for as long as our business is operational! Both Chris and I invest in unlimited storage, ensuring that your gallery remains accessible for as long as we're in business. However, we highly recommend downloading your final gallery to multiple locations such as your desktop, hard drives, USB drives, iCloud, etc. Additionally, upon request, we offer SSD storage for $250, capable of holding all deliverable products included in your wedding collection.
DO YOU USE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER + VIDEOGRAPHER?
We typically cover weddings with just Chris and Jackie, but we do offer the option to add a second photographer or videographer to your package. If you choose this option, Jackie will arrange for another professional to join us. The cost for a second shooter is typically between $50 to $100 per hour, and we'll include their rate in your invoice. Rest assured, we work with skilled photo/video friends who can provide additional coverage if desired!
WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME FOR OUR PHOTOS AND FILMS?
You can expect a sneak peek within a week of your wedding day to satisfy your immediate excitement! For a full day wedding, all images will be available within 8-10 weeks. We understand your eagerness to see your wedding photos, so our goal is to deliver them to you as quickly as possible. Additionally, we offer a Rush Fee option for a one-week turnaround if you're in need of expedited delivery!
WHAT IF YOU GET SICK BEFORE OUR WEDDING?
While an extremely rare scenario, if circumstances arise where we are unable to cover your wedding, we offer two possibilities for resolution. Firstly, we will make every effort to find a suitable replacement photographer or videographer from our network of talented professionals whom we trust. Rest assured, the images and films will still be under Rivers Photo & Video, and we will personally handle the editing for you.
Alternatively, if you prefer not to have us find a replacement, we can refund all your payments, including the retainer fee (this is the only exception), allowing you the flexibility to make alternative arrangements for your wedding in time.
DO YOU OFFER ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
Absolutely! We love capturing couples in love and offer engagement sessions as part of some of our wedding collections. This session provides you with an opportunity to become acquainted with our shooting style and feel comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. It's a fantastic way for you to build confidence in us before we capture your special day!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN WE SCHEDULE OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Once your retainer is paid, we can start planning your session right away. Please note that we're typically fully booked out two months in advance, so it's best to secure your spot as soon as possible to ensure availability for your desired date.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE?
We consider ourselves photojournalists, dedicated to thoroughly documenting your special day to ensure your story is told in a beautiful and authentic manner. Our focus goes beyond just capturing the moment; we aim to encapsulate the raw emotions behind it. In our editing process, we seek a balance between light and airy tones and dark and moody atmospheres, ensuring the memories we capture stand out in a timeless manner.
CAN YOU SHOOT BOTH INDOORS AND OUTDOORS?
We specialize in natural light photography, and our style flourishes in outdoor weddings set amidst nature's beauty. However, we understand that ideal natural light isn't always available, so we're proficient in using our own lighting equipment as well. Whether indoors or outdoors, rest assured, we're equipped to capture stunning photographs in any setting! We’re happy to provide example upon request!
DO YOU POSE US?
Don't worry, we don't expect you to be professional models – in fact, most of our clients aren't. We'll provide guidance and direction throughout the session. While we'll incorporate some casual poses, expect more prompts than rigid poses. Our goal is to capture your genuine selves and true emotions. Prompts help bring out authenticity and enable us to capture the love and connection you share more authentically than poses alone. Feeling a bit awkward in front of the camera is completely normal (even for photographers!), but rest assured, your photos will turn out amazing – we promise!
DO WE NEED TO SEND YOU A SHOT LIST?
On your wedding day, we aim to capture a variety of specific detail, portrait, and candid shots. However, if there are particular shots that are especially important to you, please don't hesitate to let us know. Feel free to share your vision through a Pinterest board or any other means – we'd love to see your ideas and ensure we meet your expectations. Your wedding day is all about you, and our goal is to serve you to the best of our ability!
DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU?
Absolutely, we appreciate your consideration! Ensuring we have a meal during your wedding helps us stay energized and focused throughout the day. If possible, it would be fantastic if your caterer could provide a vegan option for Jackie – thank you in advance for checking with them. Chris, on the other hand, is quite flexible with his dietary preferences. We prefer to eat when everyone else does as well, as photos of people eating are not always the most aesthetically pleasing!
DO YOU EDIT THE PHOTOS?
YES! After photographing a wedding, our first step is to spend a few hours backing up and culling the images. This involves selecting the best shots while eliminating any unflattering or blinking ones. Don't worry, we'll also send you some of the funny shots that we think will make you laugh! Once the culling process is complete, we move on to editing and color correcting every image to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and consistency.
HOW DO WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
You'll have access to your own personal online gallery, where all your beautifully edited high-quality wedding and engagement photos will be stored. This link will be sent to you via email approximately 8-10 weeks after your wedding. In the gallery, you can download all the photos, share the link with friends and family, and even order prints. Please note that the gallery is guaranteed for one year, so we recommend saving your images promptly to ensure you have them for years to come!
DO YOU OFFER BOTH COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES?
I primarily shoot in color and provide select images in black and white as part of your gallery. However, if you'd like, we offer the option to have a full black and white gallery alongside your color images as an a la carte add-on. Just let us know if you're interested, and we'll be happy to accommodate your preference!
ARE WE ABLE TO SELECT THE MUSIC FOR ANY OF THE FILMS?
Chris does an exceptional job selecting music for our couples' films, ensuring it complements the natural ambiance of the footage he captures. We use MusicBed.com, which offers a wide range of options for you to explore and find an artist or track that resonates with you. If you'd like, feel free to peruse the site for inspiration or to discover an artist you love, and we can base all your music choices for the film off that selection!
CAN WE GET THE RAW FILES?
While we don’t provide the raw image files, we do offer raw video footage as an option in some of our collections. Raw files serve as the rough drafts of the final product. However, we only release the finished image products in JPEG form, which will be delivered to you through your gallery. Rest assured, we're generous with the number of files we provide, ensuring you receive the very best photos from your wedding day.
DO WE HAVE TO ORDER OUR PRINTS AND ALBUMS THROUGH OUR GALLERY?
No, you're not obligated to buy prints from your gallery, but we highly recommend it. Our gallery's photo lab produces higher quality and truer-to-color prints compared to those from big box store print labs. So if you want to ensure your photos look their best and avoid any color discrepancies, ordering prints from your gallery is the way to go. However, feel free to use any photo lab of your choice; your contract serves as your print release, granting you the freedom to print your photos wherever you prefer.
DO WE GET THE FULL COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES?
While we reserve the full copyright to our images, you will be granted permission to print our images at any photo lab of your choice and share your photos as you wish. This allows you the freedom to enjoy and distribute your images as desired, while still respecting our ownership of the copyright.
WHY DO GALLERIES TAKE 8-10 WEEKS?
We dedicate considerable time and effort to meticulously sorting through each photo and video clip, ensuring that we deliver our very best work to you. While we allow ourselves 10 weeks for delivery, it rarely takes that long. On average, our delivery time is 4 weeks or less. However, please note that turnaround time may vary depending on the number of galleries we're working on at the moment and the busyness of the photography season. We understand that you'll be eager to see your photos, so we'll be sure to send you plenty of sneak peeks along the way – seriously, so many!
WHY THAT PRICE WHEN I CAN ASK MY UNCLE BOB WITH A "FANCY" POINT AND SHOOT FOR FREE?
Wedding photography isn't simply a clock-in, clock-out type of job. The 8-10 hours that we're booked for are just the beginning. Afterward, comes countless hours dedicated to ensuring your gallery looks flawless. Additionally, we work with you before your wedding day to help create the perfect photo timeline, ensuring we capture all the shots you're envisioning. And hey, Uncle Bob is still welcome to bring his camera if he wants – the more memories captured, the merrier!
DO YOU POST OUR PHOTOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
Yes, we frequently share our favorite highlights of your special day on our Instagram or Facebook pages. This not only allows us to showcase our work to other potential clients but also gives us the chance to celebrate and share in your joyous moments with our audience. Rest assured, we do so with the utmost respect for your privacy and always seek your permission before posting any images publicly.

We provide several collections for you to choose from. However, if none of our existing collections suit your needs, we're more than happy to customize something for you. Simply let us know your budget considerations and the number of hours of coverage you'll require, and we'll work together to create a package that fits your requirements and preferences perfectly!

Printing your photos is a must! While it's fun to share images online, there's something special about having tangible prints to cherish. We offer a variety of options for bringing your digital images to life on paper. Your gallery is the ideal starting point – you can easily order prints, albums, and wall art directly through the gallery site, making it super convenient! If you have a specific product in mind that you don't see listed, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We work with numerous vendors and can help you find the perfect fit for your home and family.
